Earlier today, I testified on Senate Bills 622 and 624. I was pleased to be joined by CASA de Maryland, the Secretary for the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC), and a Representative for Maryland's Social Workers.
These two bills, if passed by the Maryland General Assembly, would have a direct and positive impact on our high school graduation rates, especially in Prince George's County!
Senate Bill 622 aims to connect the academic and social resources that school systems offer to many students, families, and communities.
Senate Bill 624 creates a statewide task force that studies the expansion of Career and Technical Education courses for high school and community college students.
As many people know, I am a strong advocate for opening more windows of opportunity for those in my community. These two bills do just that!
